Sarah Cooper showed viewers of Jimmy Kimmel Live how to late-night on Tuesday, filling in for Jimmy Kimmel as guest host.

“Basically, I’m the reason your grandpa downloaded TikTok,” Cooper said in her own voice, during the opening monologue. “But don’t blame me. Blame my nephews Ryan and Tyler. If they hadn’t shown me TikTok, I never would’ve started lip-syncing a certain stable genius.”

Cooper has shot to renown this year thanks to her often savage lip-sync impersonations of President Donald Trump. On Wednesday, Netflix announced that it will stream her first comedy special, Sarah Cooper: Everything’s Fine, this fall. “And they said a female president would be too emotional,” she joked of Trump on the late-night show. “‘Once a month she’ll go crazy,’ they said. Can you imagine? A president who only goes crazy once a month? But without a crazy president, I wouldn’t be here. So thanks, Trump... Tower Moscow.”

Further acknowledging her meteoric rise, Cooper added, “This year has been insane. I’m sorry, that’s offensive. This year has been presidential. I started this year doing a late-night set at a pizza place in Jersey City. Now, here I am hosting a late-night show in a vacant house. Actually, the number of people in the audience is exactly the same.”

Before becoming known as an author, comic, and TikTok star, Cooper worked at Google for more than three years as a user experience lead and manager of Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. “They had fun names for everybody,” she said on Tuesday night of working at the tech giant. “Like the older Googlers are called ‘Greyglers,’ and the new Googlers are called ‘Nooglers.’ They had some trouble coming up with a name for the Black Googlers, though, so finally, they decided to just call them David and Shawn.”

Cooper also said she met her husband while working at Google. “He kept asking me out and I kept saying no, but then he said he had tickets to see Louis C.K., who was my favorite comedian at the time,” she said of their courtship. “And I couldn’t say no to that. No one can say no to Louis C.K.; that’s kind of his whole brand.”

While offering viewers a chance to see her Trump impersonation in action, Cooper mostly kept things traditional on Jimmy Kimmel Live, including conducting a celebrity interview with Ben Stiller—who said he was a fan of her work.

“What I like about what you do is you give him so much more actual weight to what you’re saying, you’re actually thinking,” Stiller said. “Because you do have a subtext, and I feel like he doesn’t have a subtext.”

“He doesn’t have a subtext,” Cooper said in response. “It’s kind of fun when he sounds angry. Sometimes it’s out of fear, because he doesn’t actually know what he’s talking about, or maybe he’s confused. And so I like to bring that to the surface sometimes. I think it’s also just interesting to see his words coming out of someone else’s face.”
