Yanukovych opens new terminal at Boryspil Airport
3 days ago at 14:40 | Interfax-Ukraine"First of all, I want to congratulate the constructors, who showed that the professional level in Ukraine meets international standards," the president told reporters and employees of the airport.
According to him, the airport will continue to build new terminals.
"We will build several more terminals, which will make Boryspil one of the best modern airports in the world," the president promised.
As reported, the construction of Terminal F at Boryspil airport is being performed as part of the reconstruction of four airports in cities hosting the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship. The reconstruction is to be completed within 18 months. Another terminal, Terminal D, with an area of about 100,000 square meters, is also to be constructed at Boryspil airport.
The total area of Terminal F is 20,000 square meters and its capacity is 900 passengers per hour.
The cost of the construction of Terminal F is Hr 413.14 million. The project was financed using the airport's own funds.
Transport and Communications Minister Kostiantyn Yefymenko told earlier that about 40% of flights serviced at Boryspil airport would be transferred to the F terminal from October 1.
