Works well with Windows 11
Expensive $22 cable, but it works with Windows11. That’s all that matters for me. Plug and play with Windows11. Other less expensive cables require you to go hunting for drivers and some of those drivers aren’t compatible with Windows11. I plugged this in and the driver was automatically downloaded. Opened up my device manager to see which port it was using by unplugging the cable and watching which port disappeared from device manager. Then re-inserted the cable back into the USB port and saw the port re-appear in device manager. Then went into CHIRP NEXT and selected that port and plugged in my UV-5R and it was smooth sailing from there. Was able to DL the IMG from the UV-5R immediately. After making all my changes, I uploaded the Chirp file back onto the radio without a hitch.Tip for you new users of Chirp (or many other software). Make sure the cable is pressed in hard (on the radio). And make sure the radio’s power/volume knob is turned up to 100%. If you have it at 90% or 95%, it may not work. But at 100% volume, it’ll work.This cable seems to be much higher quality than other cables I've used. It is very pliable and "soft". Almost no hard bends or "memory" on it.

Yep, it is a few more bucks that some of the cables that come with the driver CD but, this is literally plug and play. Put it in my computer and then connected to the radio. It recognized the radio right away, it read it and I was able to enter the frequencies I wanted. It also allows you to enter an alphanumeric "alias" for off of the channels instead of just seeing the frequency. I read so many bad reviews on cables that had all kinds of issues but, spending a few extra dollars was well worth the lack of frustration!

I used this to program my Baofeng UV-5R and 5RM Radios using CHIRP. It worked flawlessly. Anyone that has issues, make sure that the plug snaps in all the way to the radio. The first couple of times you have to press a bit hard, it should click twice. After that it gets easier. The volume needs to be turned up all the way on most radios as well for it to work properly. Make sure you use the newest daily build of CHIRP if that's the software you are using. No need to rollback to an old driver like you might read in some forums online, Windows will install the correct one.

I have heard horror stories about people using knockoff programming cables and having them not work no matter what they try. So although this one is a bit more expensive than some, it will definitely work and save you any hassle.
