Hartlepool boss Chris Turner has strengthened his squad at Victoria Park with three signings.

Right-back Jon Bass, 25, has arrived from Birmingham on a free transfer.

He is joined by midfielders Darrell Clarke, 23, who comes from Mansfield Town and Tommy Widdrington, 29, from Port Vale.

Bass said: "Several clubs were interested in signing me, but I was impressed with the way Hartlepool invited me up here straight away."
