With regular news reports of artists leaving Spotify, look no further than Taylor Swift and her album ‘1989’, Jay Z is pleased to launch a new high-fidelity streaming platform, Tidal.

Tidal is the high-fidelity premium streaming service, which was purchased by S. Carter Enterprises on March 10th 2015 and relaunched on March 30th 2015 with a star-studded line up. At the press conference, Roc Nation’s Chief Investment Officer Vania Schlogel unveiled the “co-owners” – Alicia Keys, Arcade Fire’s Win Butler and Régine Chassagne, Beyoncé, Calvin Harris, Chris Martin, Daft Punk, Deadmau5, J. Cole, Jack White, Jason Aldean, Jay Z, Kanye West, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, and Usher.

“So we come together before you on this day, March 30th, 2015, with one voice in unity in the hopes that today will be another one of those moments in time, a moment that will forever change the course of music history”, explains Keys.

In an interview with Billboard previously, Jay Z said, “We didn’t like the direction music was going and thought maybe we could get in and strike an honest blow. Will artists make more money? Even if it means less profit for our bottom line, absolutely. That’s easy for us. We can do that. Less profit for our bottom line, more money for the artist; fantastic”.

TIDAL boasts licenses with the major labels at an established price point of $9.99 per month for standard services, or $19.99 for high-fidelity premium. For more information on Tidal, visit: http://tidal.com/.
