Something from Peter on the influence of the original Bauhaus movement on the band Bauhaus:

Bauhaus had no influence on Bauhaus except for being the sound, shape, energetic, and sensory Birth name of our group. The name was irresistibly genius as it was just waiting for the latter movement (us) to descend down into its spirit. There could only ever be our band to don its robe of existence with this our name. A predestination. “This ain’t rock and roll…this is post avant-garde.” The death of punk, the everything to piss n moan about of the pseudo angry punk bore, ran out. The beauty of the seers of beauty in even the apparent ugly exploded into being Us.

(The Bauhaus furniture and a few buildings still looked great though.)
