NBC is bringing back “Emerald City,” inspired by L. Frank Baum’s enduring “Wizard of Oz” tales, after passing on the project last season.

The net handed a straight-to-series 10-episode order to the drama, which will be exec produced by “Do No Harm” creator-exec producer David Schulner.

Previously, Matthew Arnold and Josh Friedman were developing the ambitious fantasy vehicle.

Emerald City” follows 20-year-old Dorothy Gale and her K9 police dog who, after a tornado, are transported to another world far away — a mystical land of competing kingdoms, lethal warriors, dark magic and a bloody battle for supremacy.

The series is a darker spin on “Oz” where wicked witches don’t stay dead for long and a young girl becomes a headstrong warrior who holds the fate of kingdoms in her hands.

“Emerald City” isn’t the only “Oz”-inspired project heading down the yellow brick road at NBC. The Peacock recently settled on “The Wiz” as its live holiday musical event for this year.
