Morris County Surrogate Heather Darling sworn in as COANJ President

    The Officers for the Constitutional Officers Association of New Jersey (COANJ) were sworn-in at the Annual Conference held at SeaView Hotel in Galloway.  Morris County Surrogate Heather J. Darling was sworn in as President by State Senator Anthony M. Bucco.  Somerset County Clerk Steve Peter became Vice-President; Hudson County Clerk E.  Junior Maldonado took the oath as COANJ Treasurer and Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon was sworn in as Secretary. 

    Outgoing COANJ President Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy presented the Legislator of the Year Award to Senate Minority Leader Anthony M. Bucco and outgoing Senator Richard J. Codey.  In addition, Mastronardy presented Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon with the COANJ Gill C. Job Award for Outstanding Service and Antwan McClennan of the Cape May Sheriff’s Office with the Rita M. Rosenberg Award for outstanding service.

    Section Chiefs for a new term are Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton; Somerset County Surrogate Bernice “Tina” Jalloh and Salem County Clerk Dale A. Cross.
