Over 120 Tribes recently gathered in Washington for the National Tribal Leaders Climate Summit, and we were thrilled to be a part of this important event. Jennifer Santry, Associate Director of Tribal Community Schoolyards, moderated a panel on climate impacts, community wellness, and traditional foods. "It's the people that make the place" - Antonnio Benton, Colorado Parks for People Project Manager. Last week, the Westwood Pocket Park opened to the community and nearby school. Half gathering space, half skate haven, this space was designed with the neighborhood's youth at its core.
