Education Management Corp. cutting 200 mostly online staff
Pittsburgh-based Education Management Corp. is laying off 200 workers, mostly in the city and in Phoenix.Spokesman Bob Greenlee says the cuts account for less than 3 percent of the corporation's workforce. EDMC's website says it has 20,800 workers -- meaning the cuts would be about 1 percent -- but Greenlee says the website number is out of date.The workers being cut are mostly online Art Institute employees.
