Apr 4-17: This month, the largest collection of cherry blossom trees in the nation blooms in Newark’s Branch Brook Park as the city debuts its newly completed collection of more than 4,300 trees during the 35th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival. Set below a canopy of pink and white blossoms, the two-week-long celebration includes a gala, bicycle races, a 1-mile fun run and a 10K run, a nature photography workshop and more, culminating with the highlight of the festival, Bloomfest on April 17, a family day featuring music, food, cultural demonstrations, children’s activities, a crafters’ marketplace and more.
