🌍 The 2024 Ocean Decade Conference kicks-off today in Barcelona and Seascape Belgium is delighted to be here supporting knowledge-based solutions for the sustainable management of our seas and ocean. 💻 🌊 During the conference our team will be representing projects that contribute to Challenge 8 of the Ocean Decade –Developing a Digital Representation of the Ocean—and to the EU Mission Restore Our Ocean and Waters. 👉 These include: DCO Ocean Data Sharing, EMODnet, EDITO - European Digital Twin Ocean, Blue-Cloud 2026 🐠 Besides these initiatives, SSBE is supporting different research projects whose results will enhance Ocean observations and contribute solutions to the OD Challenges, such as EuroGO-SHIP Project, OceanICU project, LandSeaLot, #FOCCUS, #AQUARIUS , DTO Bio Flow, and eDNAqua-Plan. 🐳 Follow our projects to learn more! #OceanDecadeConference #UNESCO #Ocean #Digital #Climate #adaptation #Conservation #OceanDecade

Seascape Belgium is excited to join the LandSeaLot Consortium to help defragment land-sea interface observation! Follow LandSeaLot to learn more about this crucial project. Land-sea interface observations are important in order for communities to make informed decisions, evaluate trade-offs, discuss desirable futures, and take action on the challenges we face today such as #climatechange #pollution and #biodiversityloss.

Seascape Belgium partners with Marine Institute in the AQUARIUS project, funded by European Union. #OceanDecade Contribution 🌊 Join us on 20 February at the Ocean Science Meeting 2024 for a workshop on the Ocean Decade Data and Information Strategy to help shape the future of global ocean data! 🪸🌐 Designed for ocean data producers, data custodians, decision makers and industry, this workshop will discuss how to build a trusted, inclusive, and interconnected global ocean data and information system. Participants will learn standards and best practices that can be implemented in local environments to align with this strategy and contribute to the data and information ecosystem. The Horizon Europe @DTO-BioFlow project (https://dto-bioflow.eu) has launched an Open Call offering up to 60,000€ for institutions that manage marine biodiversity data, to invite them to contribute to the European Digital Twin of the Ocean (EU DTO) by making these data available to the public domain through EMODnet Biology. #opencall for #marine #biodiversity #data holders!
