Peaches 'N' Cream (1965)

Ikettes - Peaches N Cream - Single

Peaches 'N' Cream was the second successful solo single from The Ikettes, taken from the album Soul The Hits. A different version is also available on their second long player (G)Old & New from 1974. The single was re-issued in 1973, after the release of the album Peaches and the b-side track was included on the sampler Fine, Fine, Fine from 1987 and Can't Sit Down…'Cos It Feels So Good in 2007.

CashBox - March 13, 1965

Looks as if the Ikettes will have no trouble in reaching the charts with this latest Modern entry called "Peaches 'N' Cream." The side is a rollicking, hard-driving pop-r&b handclapper about a lucky lass who hooks up with the right guy. The flip, "The Biggest Players," is a low-down, shufflin' affair which details the rules of the romance-game. Also merits a close look.

Blues & Soul - April 27, 1973

Back to the golden 60's for this foot-stomper with the overused Chuck Berry / Memphis rhythm. It honestly sounds so dated now but there may be a few folk interested in the record, having missed it last time round.
