Last week, the 2022 Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove Awards released their list of nominations and former Niverville resident, Jordan St. Cyr was nominated for two awards, New Artist of the Year and Short Form Music Video of the Year for ‘Weary Traveler.’

"It's always an honour. Being from a small town from the middle of Canada and now to be kind of in the forefront of the Christian music industry in the U.S., it doesn't make sense in my mind but I'm so grateful."

From seeing his name on billboard charts to living the tour life, the past couple of years has been busy for St. Cyr. In February 2022, he, his wife and their four children moved to Murfreesboro, a city just outside of Nashville, Tennessee.

In addition to the move, he just announced he'll be on tour this fall alongside Ryan Ellis, also one of the nominations for New Artist of the Year.

"A few years ago, it was a pipe dream to think we'd ever be in consideration for something like this," says St. Cyr. "To be here now, to have this kind of honour bestowed upon us, it's disarming, humbling. I say us because while my name’s on everything, there are a lot of people working behind the scenes that support and lift up this calling I feel that's been put on my life."

St. Cyr will be in attendance for this year’s GMA Dove Awards ceremony on October 18 in Nashville.
