Ukraine loses control over crossing to Kherson

After fierce fighting with the occupiers, the Ukrainian army lost control over the crossing to Kherson.

"Dear residents of Kherson region! I have to say that after fierce fighting on the outskirts of Kherson, despite the desperate efforts of the Ukrainian army, we unfortunately, lost control over the crossing to Kherson," Head of the Kherson Regional State Administration Hennadiy Lahuta reports posted on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

Lahuta informed that the enemy overcame the city's defenses with considerable forces and heavy losses.

He urged residents to remain calm and not panic. The region's leadership is making every effort to maintain law and order and save lives, he said.

"The situation remains tense, but we promise to do everything possible to settle it. The situation is constantly monitored, all important information will be promptly brought to the public by official sources of mass information," the head of the Administration promised.

Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian defenders were on the Antonivsky Bridge across the Dnipro Riven from the side of Kherson, and enemy vehicles – from the side of Oleshky. The bridge was partially damaged.
