Christian Worship Leader Jordan St. Cyr Calls on Christians to ‘Rise Up’ for The Unborn

By Movieguide® Contributor

Christian singer-songwriter Jordan St. Cyr advocated for the sanctity of life at the 2022 March for Life and invited others to “rise up” to join him to protect the unborn.

“This is the work of the church to be a voice of the voiceless,” he told Faithwire. “To bear the weight of those who can’t bear it on their own… it’s important for everyone to be a part of this.”

Known for hit songs like “Fires” and the recently released “Weary Traveler,” St. Cyr headlined the pre-rally concert at the national mall in Washington D.C. on January 21.

St. Cyr filled in for Christian artist Matthew West, who contracted COVID-19 before the event.

While on stage, St. Cyr shared songs and a message that emphasized the hope found through faith in Christ.

“I think it’s time for men, in general, to just rise up,” he explained. “I think so often we see the voice coming from the mother and I think that’s amazing, but I think the father’s heart of God is really just speaking to me as a father. It’s important for us to lead our homes and to really bring our 100% to the table.”

The Canada-based singer-songwriter knows the value and fragility of human life. St. Cyr and his wife, Heather, share four children, including two daughters and two sons.

Movieguide® previously reported on the 2022 March of Life:

Actor Kirk Cameron recently gave a speech at the 2022 March for Life in Washington D.C., where he shared his connection to the issue of abortion.

“I am from warm and sunny California, but it’s also the land of loose nuts and bolts,” Cameron said to begin his speech on Jan 21 in front of the Washington Monument. “I’d much rather be here in Washington DC with you for the March of Life. I love to see your signs and your smiles and your hearts filled with love and compassion for moms and babies and families.”

Cameron made it clear that God and the Bible offered hope to everyone and encouraged the audience to stand for the truth.

“Why are we here?” he asked. “The Bible, the book that built America, says that those who hate God love death, but we’re the family of faith. We love God therefore we love life. Our hope is not in the White House. It’s not in congress. Our hope is not in the people who govern us or the laws that we make in this nation, our hope is in the power of God working in the hearts of His people.”
