Brooks Koepka accidentally revealed the sex of his baby-to-be with his wife, Jena Sims, this past weekend when participating at LIV Golf’s latest tournament in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
When speaking to reporters, the four-time major champion — who announced in early May that he and Sims, a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit hopeful, are expecting their first child — was asked about which traits he wishes the couple can pass along to their future bundle of joy, whom Koepka described as “he.”
“I hope he gets a lot more traits from my wife than he does me,” the 33-year-old Koepka said with a laugh.
“I think, me, probably discipline. I think I’m pretty disciplined when it comes down to work. And then my wife’s sense of humor. You always want to be funny, right?”
Sims, 34, joked about the flub the following day, giving fans a peek at their sweet gender reveal which involved donuts filled with blue icing.
“Since someone let it out of the bag yesterday, I’ll share our fun little reveal!” the model and philanthropist posted Sunday on her Instagram Stories.
“I wasn’t mad at all… (only because my husband thinks I’m hilarious apparently).”
In a separate post, Sims — who will celebrate her first wedding anniversary with Koepka next month — posted a heartfelt note in honor of Mother’s Day.
“Happy Mother’s Day to all Moms. The ones who are with their children today, the ones who carry their children in their hearts, the ones trying to conceive, the ones who are bonus mothers, and even the fur baby mamas. I love you. I cannot wait to become a boy mom,” she shared.
Koepka also penned a message to Sims on Instagram, writing in part, “Can’t wait for our son to have you as his mom!”
It’s been an exciting few weeks for Koepka and Sims, who was recently named a finalist in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s annual Swimsearch.
As for Koepka, who placed second in this year’s Masters, he is set to compete this week at the PGA Championship in Rochester, New York.
He won the major in 2018 and 2019.
