IKE & TINA: Television

Ann-Margret Olsson (1975)

Ike & Tina Turner - The Ann-Margret Show - TV

Promotional picture from a never released performance

Ann-Margret Olsson was a TV special with music, dance and comedy. It was filmed in London, while both promoted the movie Tommy  and attended the premiere, together with other artists like Elton John. First Ann-Margret introduced Tina as her best friend and then both talked about the life of a performer in the music business, sitting on chairs and dressed in old-fashioned costumes. After they agreed that they want to continue the life on the road, they performed three songs live as a duet, both dressed in jeans. Maybe they did the performance twice, because on the promotional picture they wear both very similar dresses like on Tina’s Acid Queen cover. This performance was never officially released. Curiously, although she performed solo, she was announced as 'Ike & Tina Turner' in the opening credits.
