Anil Kapoor-Rani Mukherjee starrer Nayak finds itself immersed in a well of problems before its release.
A fortnight before its release, producer A.M. Rathnam decided to hike its price because he claimed to have made a table loss of almost ten crores on Nayak. Moreover, the special effects in Canada cost them a fortune, so also the re-shooting.
Thanks to the poor pre-release publicity, the movie, in trade parlance, didn't become "hot", and distributors were unwilling to shell out additional money for the rights.
On the contrary, a dispute arose between several distributors and the producer, because the former began asking for a price reduction.
Also the mixing done abroad was shoddy and out of sync, so it seems, a chunk of the movie is being re-mixed.
All these factors compelled the release date of Nayak to be pushed forward.
Anil Kapoor has been extremely upbeat about Nayak but depression has enveloped his camp, following the turmoil over Nayak.
