Procedure to download files from the camera to the computer operating macOS

A.


- Procedure to download the files using the USB connection from the camera to the computer operating macOS 

Note: Make sure to use a fully charged battery.

1. Set the camera connection mode to “USB CARD READER”.
2. Connect the camera where the SDXC memory card is inserted to the computer operating macOS using the USB cable.
3. Start up the “Image Capture” that is the standard application for macOS.
   ➔ Click the magnifying glass icon on the upper right of the desktop screen and search the “image capture” and select the “image Capture.app”.


4. Wait a few minutes until the file reading display disappears.
    Note: Waiting time will depend on how many files in the card.
   ➔ The file reading is completed if the following thumbnail images appear.


5. Press the “command” and “A” keys together to select all files.


6. Keep pressing the “command” key and click the movie files of more than 4GB one by one to deselect those files.
   ➔ It is shown as “4.29GB” in the file size column, if the file size is more than 4GB.
   ➔ Skip this step if there are no movie files of more than 4GB.
       This step is required because the movie files of more than 4GB are inaccessible correctly at using USB connection.


7. Click the “Download” button to start downloading the files to the computer.


8. After the download for all files except for the movie files of more than 4GB is completed, turn off the power of the camera and then disconnect the USB cable.
   ➔ The popup window to show “Importing” will disappear when the download is completed.


9. If the movie files of more than 4GB are in the SDXC memory card, download the movie files referring to the following instructions.


 

- Procedure to download the files using the computer operating Windows 

1. Set the “Write protect switch” on the SDXC memory card to the “Lock” position to avoid data loss.
2. Set the SDXC memory card into the internal or external card reader of the computer operating Windows.
3. Select the SDXC card set with “File Explorer”.


4. Select the folder in the “DCIM” where the files are saved.
   ➔ Repeat the following steps from #5 to #9 for all folders in the “DCIM”.


5. Select all movie files of more than 4GB in the folder.


6. Click the right-hand button on the mouse to show the pull-down menu and select “Copy”.


7. Select the folder where you will download the files in the computer operating Windows and click the right-hand button on the mouse to show the pull-down menu and select “Folder” after selecting “New”.


8. Name the new file you created and press the “Enter” key to fix the folder name.


9. Paste the movie files of more than 4GB copied at the step 6 above.


10. After all movie files of more than 4GB are pasted, select the SDXC memory card and select the “Eject” in the pull-down menu by clicking the right-hand button on the mouse.



11. After the popup window that shows “Safe To Remove Hardware” (see below), remove the SDXC memory card from the computer and set the “Write protect switch” on the SDXC memory card back to the “Unlock” position.


12. Format the SDXC memory card that you will save the movie files from the above computer and set this card into the internal or external card reader of the computer operating Windows where the movie files of more than 4GB were saved
   ➔ You can use either new card or the one where the movie files were saved if all files are in the computer following the above procedure.

13. Select the folder where the movie files more than 4GB were saved and copy them all.


14. Select the SDXC memory card and paste the files copied above to the card.



15. After all files are pasted, repeat step #10 and #11 for other folders.
16. Set the “Write protect switch” on the SDXC memory card to the “Lock” position to avoid data loss.
17. Set the SDXC memory card into the internal or external card reader of the computer operating macOS.
18. Start up the “Finder” that is the standard application for macOS and open the SDXC memory card and select the movie files more than 4GB that are saved using the computer operating Windows.
And then copy those files with drag-and-drop operation onto somewhere you will save those movie files of more than 4GB in the computer operating macOS.

19. Drag the icon that represents the card to the “Trash” and remove the SDXC memory card from the card reader.

 

- Procedure to download the files using the dual-slot camera 

      (Dual-slot Camera: All GFX series, X-T3, X-Pro3, and X-T4)
Note: Make sure to use a fully charged battery.

1. Insert the SDXC memory card where the movie files of more than 4GB are saved into the “SLOT1” on the camera and insert another SDXC memory card formatted into the “SLOT2” on the camera.
   ➔ Make sure to use the SDXC memory card.
2. Search the movie file of more than 4GB using ”PLAY BACK" mode.
3. Open “PLAY BACK” menu while displaying the movie file of more than 4GB,
4. Select “COPY”.
5. Select “SLOT1➔SLOT2" and select “1 frame”.
6  Press “OK” to copy the file.
   ➔ Do not turn off the power of the camera while the file is being copied although it takes long.
7. Repeat the step #2 to #7 for all movie files of more than 4GB in the card.
8. Turn off the camera after all files are copied 4GB and remove the SDXC memory card.
9. Set the “Write protect switch” on the SDXC memory card to the “Lock” position to avoid data loss.
10. Set the SDXC memory card into the internal or external card reader of the computer operating macOS.
11. Select the SDXC card set with “Finder” and copy those files with drag-and-drop operation onto somewhere you will save those movie files of more than 4GB in the computer operating macOS.




12. Drag the icon that represents the card to the “Trash” and remove the SDXC memory card from the card reader.
