Thanks to teams across the company, the idea of viewing a total eclipse from the air will become a reality for our customers. This week, hundreds of fliers caught the total solar eclipse in-air from DL 1218, Austin-Detroit and DL 1010, Dallas-Detroit. “[These flights are] the result of significant collaboration and exemplifies the close teamwork Delta is known for — from selecting an aircraft with larger windows to determining the exact departure time from Austin and the experiences at the gate and in the air,” said Eric Beck, Managing Director of Domestic Network Planning. ✈️ Take a look at some of the work that went into preparing for these flights. We’re honored to receive the recognition of being on Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies list 🏆 The annual recognition highlights organizations that are transforming industries and shaping society through innovation. Delta took the no. 2 spot in the travel category, for our Wi-Fi revolution that is working to ensure the future of travel is connected. A recognition like this would not be possible without the Delta technicians and technology experts who navigated the extremely complex in-flight connectivity challenges to seamlessly distribute satellite signals to customers and our partners at T-Mobile. We are grateful to Fast Company for the recognition and proud to continue to lead the industry forward with our connectivity innovations.
