What kind of process did you use to create an exhibition? Who needs exhibitions today? Does the deck of cards 'Be here now' which was presented for the first time was created in any process? Where does your creativity comes from? What does it mean to design sustainable future? How can we do it together? Those any more questions were asked during and after the UNPLUGGED exhibition, co-curated with Teresa Otulak. Many still needs to be answered. The most important thing for me today is that exhibition was a celebration of creativity under the electrical and electronic appliances topic, which revels that we need to talk and play with strangers, and with people that we do not understand or with whom we feel awkward. We need to be open on not knowing, to be able to relearn again. This is how we fuel our imagination and innovation. Exhibition have happened under CIRCOTRONIC project which is co-financed by Media Dizajn Association and Interreg Central Europe Programme. Exhibition can be seen in INKU Incubator of Creative Industries until the end of the February 2024, from March to the end of April 2024 the exhibition can be seen in Regional Centre for Innovation & Technology Transfer The exhibitions was created together with students from Design Department Akademia Sztuki w Szczecinie From Szczecin UNPLUGGED will travel for the next two years. First to Agency for the Support of Regional Development Kosice Henrieta Kiralvargova in Slovakia, than to Vienna University of Technology to Philipp F. and Rainer Paminger and than to Biz UP Linz Gregor Offenthaler Michaela Streicher, Linz in Austria. Then the journey will lead to Bavarian Research Alliance in Munich, Germany to Nivedita Mahida- Königsdörfer, Susanne Hirschmann, Natalia Garcia Mozo, to Chamberce of Commerce of Industry Slovenia Urška Spitzer Grit Ackermann and Ziga Gosar to get to the last stop during final project conference in Emilia- Romagna Region, Italy to A. The Design Intelligence Award (DIA) has revealed its winners for the year of 2023, marking the culmination of a competitive and innovative journey. Originating from the visionary minds at the China Academy of Art in 2015, the DIA serves as a symbol of creativity and entrepreneurial spirit in the design realm. Going beyond a mere accolade ceremony, the DIA strives to be a dynamic incubator, nurturing revolutionary products with the potential to make a tangible impact on people's lives. This inclusive initiative, open to all without any entry fees, unfolds through a meticulous three-phase evaluation process, spotlighting designs that hold the promise of significant benefits for humanity. The DIA's mission extends beyond recognition; it aims to bolster global trade and strengthen connections, thereby reinforcing the Global East's presence in the traditionally West-centric design industry. Concluding the Hong Kong Laureate Forum: the Science, Business, and Beyond I recently had the privilege of attending the The Council of the Hong Kong Laureate Forum Limited. 🚀 The forum was a week blend of science and entrepreneurship and getting conjecture with inspirational minds. The concluding theatre show about a journey to Mars was not just entertainment; it was also an inspiration for myself. 🔬 I even had a chance going into the black hole and emerge alive (see the photo) 💡 This HKLF experience reaffirms my belief: the fusion of science, business, and technology isn't just a possibility; it's the pathway to a future brimming with uncharted opportunities. #HongKongLaureateForum #ScienceMeetsBusiness #SpaceExploration #Innovation

In the European Innovation Scoreboard 2023, Belgium ranked 5th as the most innovative country in Europe, which is not bad especially being one of the smallest. It's indisputable that Belgium has a good creative vibe and attracts many artists from abroad. Belgium is known for its fine cuisine, art and architecture, fashion and innovative music festivals of which Tomorrowland is a good example. There can be many reasons, but we guess that Belgium, and especially Brussels, has the following advantages: * Diverse culture. Belgium not only has three official languages (Dutch, French and German) but is also home to many cultures, which mutually inspire each other. About a third of people in Brussels is from another country. * Space. Rents are relatively affordable in Belgium. Thanks to the conversion of former industrial spaces to galleries, studios and cultural centres, Brussels has a lot of space for a capitale city. The WIELS art centre is a good example of that. Private members' club TheMerode is a typical creative product of Belgium. Not only do we have a vibrant, diverse community that inspires each other, but we are also located in a fully renovated historical building. Whether you work in the dedicated workspace, in one of the diverse private venues or relax in one of our in-house restaurants, everything is created to elevate your full potential. If you're interested in becoming a member, feel free to send us a message. What makes Belgium so creative? Feel free to leave your opinion in the comments.

Attended this Aalto Forum event, too. Was good. This story of a leader stating to a M&A consultant ”where were you 2 years ago” covering his eyes so as not to see the painful theory slide shown by the consultant! Must make a note that storytelling makes memories stick,.., 💡 Looking at the presented theory, this leader had just realized the reason why their two first M&A processes had gone south after the transaction. The first merged company they integrated, but drawing from an analyzed acquicition strategy, they should have left the company independent. With the second merger they had decided not to make that mistake the second time, and left the company independent, whereas they should have integrated tightly to gain what they executed the transaction for. 💡 And that is actually to the point with what the data was telling in another one of the presentations: The companies making more than 1 acquisition a year got significantly higher returns compared to the ones with less acquisitions over a period of 10 years. An excellent M&A event by Aalto University earlier this week in Helsinki - top speakers and great conversations in just one short evening. Looking forward to joining the forum again next year.
