The ministry simultaneously confirmed Luxembourg's sixth and seventh coronavirus cases on Tuesday evening.

The sixth person had stayed in the United States, and the seventh returned from Switzerland. Both persons concerned are being taken care of in accordance with the set procedure.

The ministry further noted that, to date, the spread of coronavirus in Luxembourg differs from that of neighbouring countries in that all confirmed cases were contracted abroad.

The fifth case was confirmed two days ago, Sunday the 8th of March, and followed announcements over the weekend of a third and fourth case in Luxembourg. The third confirmed case also involved a person who had returned from Alsace, while the fourth was a person who had an "epidemiological link" with northern Italy.

Luxembourg's government has issued a recommendation that events expected to attract over 1,000 people be postponed or cancelled. You can see a list of events we know to be cancelled or postponed to date here.
