  • Statutes At Large. Congressional contains the complete Statutes at Large from 1789 to the most recent compilation. Choose the Bills, Laws and Regulations menu. The search screen includes an option to limit the search to "Treaties with Indian Tribes". Searches the name and synopsis of the law. The full text of the law is in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) Campus access only.

  • Bibliography
    • Anthropological Index Online index to anthropological literature published in 700 journals provides bibliographic citations useful in the research of historic Native American cultures.
    • Bibliography on North American Indians, for K-12 "This bibliography, compiled by the Anthropology Outreach Office of the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History, is a response to these and other teachers' concerns about choosing culturally sensitive and historically accurate books for children about American Indians and Alaska Natives."
    • List of Publications of the Bureau of American Ethnology : with Index to Authors and Titles Bureau of Ethnology Bulletin 200. (End of Series) This is a complete listing of Bureau of American Ethnology publications from 1877 to 1971. It includes Annual reports, Bulletins, Contributions to North American Ethnology, Publications of the Institute of Social Anthropology,and miscellaneous publications.   • Bureau of Indian Affairs (U. S. Department of the Interior) includes a list of Federally Recognized Tribes, statistics, reports, lists of tribal leaders, bills and laws relating to Indian affairs, and other information.
  • Federally Recognized American Indian Tribes of the United States: Directory The American Indian Heritage Foundation provides a directory of tribes. Access is by region and state within a region. Entries include tribal name, name of the tribal leader, address, and telephone and/or fax numbers. Note that the tribal entries are arranged by federal designation. These federal designations may not match the name commonly used by the tribe.
  • Flags of the Native American Peoples of the United States
  • Indian Health Service offers online publications such as Trends in Indian Health, Regional Differences in Indian Health, and other titles.
  • Native American Ethnobotany Database "The database -- which contains 44,000 items representing the medicinal uses of 4,029 species from 243 different plant families by 291 different native American groups " can be searched by keywords.
  • National Archeological Database includes:
    • Report Query for bibliographic citations of 120,000 archeological investigations
    • Guidance on compliance with the Native American Grave Protection And Repatriation Act
    • Maps displaying archaeological and environmental data at the state/country level
  • National Archives and Records Administration (NARA)
    • American Indians: A Select Catalog of NARA Microfilm Publications
    • NARA Archival Research Catalog is the online catalog of NARA's nationwide holdings in the Washington, DC area, Regional Archives and Presidential Libraries. You can perform a keyword, digitized image and location search. ARC's advanced functionalities also allow you to search by organization, person, or topic. See also Crow Census which features searches by name or family number for years 1885, 1900, 1910, and 1930. Results include name, age, sex, number of family members, family relationship, and percent Indian blood.
  • Native American Constitution and Law Digitization Project A cooperative project of the University of Oklahoma Law Library and the National Indian Law Library. Provides access to Constitutions, Tribal Codes, and other legal documents. "Tribal constitutions and codes are the heart of self-government for over 500 federally recognized tribes, and are the lifeblood of Indian sovereignty."
  • Native American Rights Fund (NARF) with information about NARF activities, history, cases, newsletters, journals, links to tribal information, and information about the National Indian Law Library . Its catalog is now available online.
  • Native American Technology and Art site looks at clothing, metallurgy, pottery, and other aspects of Native American technology.
  • Native Web Site Evaluation "The purpose of this Web page is to provide some guidelines useful for evaluating and identifying Web sites that contain accurate information and that are not exploitative of American Indians."
  • Index of Native American Resources on the Internet: an extensive collection of links.
  • Native American Sites: another extensive collection of links.
  • NativeWeb: links and original publications.
  • Tribal Court Clearinghouse features codes and constitutions, law review articles, overviews of legal issues, news, court opinions from the Supreme Court and tribal courts, links to Native websites, and other information. "The Tribal Court Clearinghouse is designed as a resource for tribal justice systems and others involved in the enhancement of justice in Indian country."
