A lake unlike any other

Saimaa, Finland’s largest lake, shines like silver under the summer sky and possesses a bleak beauty during the winter. Its 1,400 square kilometres form the gateway to the inland ports of eastern Finland and provide a premium setting for boating, canoeing and fishing. The Saimaa region represents Finland at its best: the magic of water, woods, hills and meadows, and the feeling that this is the way life ought to be.
