Taetiseo Debuts on Billboard 200 Chart and Achieves Highest Showing of a Korean Album
Taetiseo’s debut album may be one of the hottest-selling albums in Korea, but it’s proving its popularity isn’t just limited to Korea.
On May 4, America’s Billboard 200 chart was updated. According to the updated information, for the week of April 23 through the 29, Taetiseo’s mini album, Twinkle was charted at 126th place. Astounding was the fact the group achieved this feat without any separate promotions or activity in the U.S.
In addition, the ranking was revealed to be the highest charting of a Korean album on the Billboard 200. In doing so, Taetiseo beat out the previous records set by Big Bang′s Alive, which placed 150th this March, and BoA’s English Album, BoA, which placed 127th in 2009.
Taetiseo’s success was evident in other charts as Twinkle placed first on the World Album Chart and second on the Heatseekers Album Chart.
Taetiseo held its debut stage on Mnet’s M Countdown on May 3.
