For the price, this knife can't be beat. It arrives wicked sharp and after weeks of pretty heavy use it has maintained its edge. I purchased this knife after reading other reviews that mentioned its multipurpose use, and it has not disappointed. It has become my go-to knife for cutting vegetables, meat, and cheese. Most items won't stick to the blade and it cuts effortlessly. The plastic sheath that it comes with is a nice touch because it protects the edge and your hand if you want to throw it in a drawer. The plastic handle of the knife is the only part I wish was changed, but for this price I understand why it is just cheap plastic. Overall I would highly recommend anybody needing a daily utility knife for chopping and slicing order this now, it works perfectly, holds a good edge and is bargain priced. Just be careful, it is SHARP!

If need a "budget knife" and want to get the best bang for your buck, this knife might be what you're looking for!

I got this knife in yesterday and I used it to cut some garlic for a dish I was preparing. Let me tell you something: this knife is SHARP!! It is easy to handle, lightweight enough to use without feeling like it's a sword (like some of the large 10" knives) and it is razor sharp!!! I spent about 18 bucks for it, and it is so much better than one I recently bough from another company for 30 bucks that was not sharp enough to cut through seaweed paper! This knife will feel right at home here, and be used often!

Price was great on Amazon Today's Deals. I thought, why not, I need a good all around kitchen knife. I love this knife for some things it's perfect, for other things, while sharp, doesn't completely 'cut it' (pun intended). Here are some things I tried that it didn't work too well on: (cons) chopping spinach, sort of tore at it instead, not a clean cut. Tomatoes, if I used a slight sawing motion, it was fine, but the more firm end at the top and bottom didn't cut as well as a serrated knife does. While cutting onions, it seems the blade isn't evenly sharp all the way tip to back. So, I found for pulpy, stringy things it doesn't work well at all. Here are some things I really think this knife works great for: Cooked meats, does a fantastic job of slicing hot meats like chicken, sausage links, giving the cut a nice clean-cut edge. I didn't try, but bet it would be fantastic for slicing a cooked roast. I didn't try it on uncooked sashimi, which is what it's advertised for, but guessing it might work okay for that, too. It is great for slicing open and breaking down taped cardboard boxes (like more Amazon-shipped stuff). I have been using it to slice open my plastic sealed foods, the ones that are too tough to tear with your fingers, but you don't want to go find scissors, either to open? This knife is perfect for slicing plastic-wrapped packages. Great for slicing block cheese and slicing thin pats of frozen butter (yes, I keep my butter fresh and frozen until ready to use) for spreading around on steaming veggies. I am glad I bought this knife. It suites some purposes nicely. If I had to do it all over again, would I still buy this knife? For the price paid (<$8) Yes, absolutely.

I literally use this knife SEVERAL times per day, hours at a time, and not only does it still cut as nicely as it did brand new, I've sharpened it MANY times, and it still LOOKS new! The Culina knife is by FAR the superior out of ALL of the others I've purchased!
I need a good, long lasting knives since I do catering, and I love this knife more than I even like my expensive butcher knife!
