Love this game
First this game looks amazing, like I'm running it on a mid range PC or ps4/xbox one. But the game has some issues. Any time there's dialogue, it tends to be rushed and not in sync with the characters. Usually theres a minute or two left waiting in silence because the talking has already finished. Also I noticed a massive drop in FPS and aiming when the flash light was in use. Finally the brightness value reverts to its darker setting when I exit the Options menu. It requires me to go back in and adjust the settings again but once thats done its fine until I go back into the menu. I know this sounds like it might a two or one star review but the look and overal feel of the game is intact and I believe these issues can be patched.

I haven't played any of the RE games since the OG on Plastation way back in the day. Not particullary a huge fan of horror games, however, when I saw a Capcom was releasing this for Apple Silicon I figured I would give it a try because there is not a terribly long list of AAA games to play on macs especially that have been optimized for the M series chips. I am running this on near max setting with 4k resolution on my MBP M1 Max with 32 GB RAM and haven't noticed a single bit of lag. It will drain your battery quick but you probably shouldn't expect to play a game this detailed on battery for too long, it is just impressive you can play on battery power at all. Honestly, the visuals are the same I would expect from a high end gaming PC. I hope other devs out there take note that these computers can keep up with or outpace many PCs with dedicated GPUs and port over more high quality games like this one. Thanks again to the Dev team that made this possible. Us Mac owners who like to game appreciate it.

Finally found time to finish this game. I am happy to be able to play re8 on my M1 Max MBP with 4k graphics and have never seen any frame drops, definitely amazing! I really love how achievements turn into currency for post game content, genius idea.
However there are 2 things I'm not really happy about this version of the game. First, I am playing this game with my PS dualsense controller, but the controller page only shows an xbox controller, most definitely annoying. Why can't there be a PS preset too, and if not, I rather see an generic controller instead of being forced to see an xbox controoler. And the other thing is that I was looking forward to experience the adaptive trigger with my dualsense controller, but I don't think it made it to this version. I hope it can be enabled through a patch in the future.
With that said, I am looking forward to the rose expansion and please make metal 3 ports of more titles from the resident evil series, as I am looking forward to those as well.
