Thai Elite visas span durations of 5 to 15 years, tailored primarily for tourists. However, it's important to note that these visas do not grant permanent residency or citizenship: https://lnkd.in/gQDv965H Thailand attracts foreigners for a multitude of reasons. Photographer Vivian Maier sought respite from bustling US cities during her Asian sojourn, while Angelina Jolie famously journeyed to the kingdom for a traditional Sak Yant tattoo. In early 2024, there are almost 4 million foreigners living in Thailand, many of whom are rich and ultra-rich people. The allure of Thai Elite visas continues to surge, with a remarkable 11,846 new visas issued during the 2023 fiscal year, doubling the previous year's count, as reported by Thailand Privilege Company. As of February 2024, the Thai Elite program boasts 36,400 investors from across the globe. Predominantly, applicants hail from China, Japan, the USA, the UK, and Russia. Holders of Thai Elite visas enjoy a suite of exclusive benefits, including facilitated relocation services, discounts at hotels and golf resorts, as well as access to VIP lounges and private airport transfers within the kingdom. St Lucia’s Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire’s speech was the highlight of April 18th at the IMC Forum in Dubai. During his presentation, Dr. Ernest Hilaire articulated St Lucia's perspective on recent developments in the investment immigration industry, complemented by significant statistics from the sector. Here are the key takeaways from the Deputy Prime Minister’s discourse: 🔹Industry goals: building resilience and sustainability in investment immigration industry. 🔹Environmental impact: investment immigration industry is responsible for less than 1% of the global emissions. 🔹Standards: European countries are strict with investors, while hundreds of thousands illegal immigrants enter EU countries without any Due Diligence and financial checks. St Lucia stands out as the only Caribbean state among the five with CBI programs that opted against joining the Memorandum of Understanding and raising the investment threshold for its citizenship by investment program. According to the country’s Prime Minister, this decision will not impact St Lucia's existing agreement with the EU regarding visa-free travel privileges. #Caribbean #CaribbeanPassport #CitizenshipByInvestment #ImmigrationLaw #immigrationlawoffice #ImmigrantInvest #IMC

The record-breaking rain and flood in Dubai did not stop Immigrant Invest representatives from attending the Investment Migration Forum 2024 in Dubai. Vladlena Baranova, a Head of Legal and AML Compliance officer, and Polina Ruda, a Junior Lawyer, met with the delegates of all Caribbean CBI programs. Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Dominica, and St Kitts and Nevis approved the rise of the investment threshold by June 2024. The most anticipated presentation came from St Lucia's representative, as it's the only Caribbean program opting not to raise the investment threshold this year. According to the program's representative, St Lucia is taking a cautious approach due to current uncertainties, preferring to remain flexible and responsive to evolving circumstances. In addition to gaining valuable insights and updates, the IMC Forum provides Immigrant Invest with a great opportunity to network and discuss the industry's trends with its most influential and trusted representatives. Immigrant Invest is actively participating in the Investment Migration Forum 2024 in Dubai, with representatives Vladlena Baranova, a Head of Legal and AML Compliance officer, and Polina Ruda, a Junior Lawyer, in attendance. During their presence at the forum, Vladlena Baranova and Polina Ruda had the opportunity to meet with St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister, Hon. Dr Terrance Michael Drew. In this meeting, Dr Drew shared his insights on recent changes to the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) program and provided a glimpse into the program’s future trajectory. According to Dr Drew, the St Kitts and Nevis CBI program will undergo further enhancements, including a reinvented Due Diligence procedure and potentially expedited processing times for investor applications. These developments signify a commitment to adaptability and efficiency within the program’s framework. Vladlena Baranova seized a unique opportunity to inquire whether St Kitts and Nevis, as the pioneers in granting citizenship by investment, is addressing the recent demands from the EU. With the EU Parliament reassessing the list of nationalities eligible for visa-free entry, countries with citizenship by investment programs face the threat of losing this privilege. However, Dr Drew reassured that St Kitts and Nevis is “taking this very seriously” and actively moving towards establishing a Due Diligence Agency to meet these demands and ensure compliance. #Caribbean #CaribbeanPassport #CitizenshipByInvestment #ImmigrationLaw #immigrationlawoffice #StKittsAndNevis #StKittsAndNevisCitizenshipByInvestment #StKittsCitizenshipByInvestment #ImmigrantInvest #IMC

The Golden Visa program in Greece proved highly lucrative in 2023, attracting a staggering €1.1 billion in investments, as reported by Ekathimerini: https://lnkd.in/drBmNgEA Last year alone, Greece approved 4,444 applications for permanent residency by investment. In January and February 2024, an additional 664 statuses were granted to investors. Among the various investment options, purchasing Greek real estate emerged as the most favoured choice among investors. Since the launch of the Golden Visa program, foreigners have acquired 24,000 properties valued at a remarkable €6 billion. Greece has recently adjusted its investment thresholds. Properties in high-demand areas like Attica, Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Santorini, and islands with populations exceeding 3,100 now require a minimum investment of €800,000. Conversely, in less popular regions, the threshold stands at €400,000. This recent adjustment has spurred even greater foreign interest in Greek real estate. Media reports suggest a surge in property purchases over the next six months. For those seeking to secure residency under the previous conditions, specific steps must be taken: 🔹 make a deposit of 10% by August 31st, 2024; 🔹 finalise the transaction before December 31st, 2024; 🔹 submit the application upon completion of the transaction. Immigrant Invest's legal professionals stand ready to assist in preparing and submitting the necessary documentation, ensuring a smooth process towards obtaining a five-year permanent residency permit in Greece. The Spanish Cabinet has approved the cancellation of the residency by investment program. This was announced by the Housing Minister of Spain, Isabel Rodríguez. However, specific measures and timelines have not yet been disclosed: https://lnkd.in/g2gdXad9 💬 Immigrant Invest lawyers commented on possible scenarios: “Currently, the Spanish government has several options. One way is to follow Portugal's lead and eliminate the option of getting residency through real estate investment. In this case, the Golden Visa will no longer be granted for property purchases. However, the opportunity to invest in the country’s economy—for example, by buying bonds—might remain available. Another option is to impose restrictions on real estate purchases in certain regions and raise the minimum investment threshold, as in Greece. In the worst-case scenario, Spain might close the Golden Visa Program. Not all Spanish politicians support the changes. According to representatives of opposition parties, real estate transactions for the Golden Visa make up only 0.2% of the total sales in the country. Thus, abolishing the program may not effectively address Spain's housing problems.” ⏳ It typically takes between 6 months to 1 year to amend Spanish laws. However, we advise you not to postpone obtaining residency in Spain. Immigrant Invest lawyers will help you gather documents and start the residency process in the European Union.
